There is NO LEGAL Maakika Art Book Download available

MAAKIKA ARTI know this blog is closed but just in case you stop by I need to make it clear a Russian site is offering illegal downloads of the Maakika art book.  I get nothing from this and it is theft pure and simple -one other site doing the same is offering the book at twice the cost of the legal printed version.

Very Sad

And Very depressing but I've given it enough time and with no comments I can't see that this is worth continuing with.

It would have been NICE to have some sort of response from visitors.

Maakika Blog Will Be Closing

Hello.
The Post title is no joke.  Although I hope (health willing) to do more Maakika art in future I am sorry to say that they will probably just be "private".

The reason is simple really.  Although a lot of people visit this site -as seems common these days- there seems to be no inclination to offer feed-back.  Do you HATE the art?  Do you Love the art? Are you indifferent to it?  Really, the feed-back is what helps any artist understand what people think of his/her work.

And I had hoped that, perhaps, one or two copies of the Maakika Art book might have sold. None have. Which I think is disappointing but that's out of my hands.

In 2016 I am making a lot of changes in my life and that includes deleting certain blogs or, at least, leaving them without any further up-dating.  Comments or sales of the book might show there is interest but I am under no illusions that there is any.  So why carry on with a blog?

Anyway, if I decide to close the blog I will announce this on 1st January, 2015 though I really want to do that now but...."give it a fair chance" they say!

The unique Maakika Art style of Terry Hooper-Scharf has raised more than a few eye-brows and is a complete change from his work as one of the UKs top graphic novel illustrators.

"No More Maakika Art?"

I have been asked why no more Maakika Art?

There are still many images in my head and every-so-often they burst forth and I have to push them back into the recesses of my mind.

I tried postcards of the art as well as A4 prints and the result was not the slightest bit of interest and not a single item sold. If you are an artist then you will know that there are good days (relatively speaking) and bad days.  What gets you through those bad days is knowing that you can do more work and people are interested.  Also, selling art helps because, yes, even artists have to eat and I'm getting no younger.

Two people have commented positively on the art on this blog.  That's it.  I just assume that this work is so vastly uninteresting to anyone and to comment might only encourage me!

I am pleased to see that there are high and regular views from France.  Well, the French know good art when they see it but as no one from France has commented I assume Maakika is NOT good art!

I have a 7cms high stack of prints and the cards I had printed I gave to someone to give away.  No idea whether he did or not.

Eventually, I hope to do some more Maakika art and if there is still interest in this blog, post it here but for now I leave things as they are.

Artists rarely make a living from their work so I never expected fame and fortune!  But please do check out the work here and if you like it...comment?

Some More NOT Maakika Art!

I sat down this morning trying to clear my head and get my eyes in focus.  I had work to do on a graphic novel.  Page after page was thrown out because I kept seeing patterns in my head.

I present to you what I can only assume is my subconscious trying to tell me I am "not right in the head"!  All free hand -ink to A3 size paper.

Even I had no idea what was going where.  "If I take the line this way---"  No! It goes that way. I give in.

The titles come from a little man in my ear!

Seriously, I have even more in my head but I am having to physically STOP myself!

And before you ask, yes, the original A3 pages WOULD really screw up your eyes....and mind?
